Elite Mobile has started to distribute SIM cards to consumer payment specialist Payzone’s network of retailers
Distributor Elite Mobile has signed with Payzone to issue prepay SIM cards to its retail partners.
Retail outlets with Payzone terminals are able to place orders for SIM card packs direct with Payzone, which will then pass the request on to Elite Mobile to fulfil.
Elite distributes SIM cards for Vodafone, T-Mobile, O2, Three, Orange, Virgin Mobile, Lebara Mobile and Lycamobile. The Payzone SIM deal covers distribution of Orange, Vodafone, O2, T-Mobile, Three and Lebara Mobile.
Elite Mobile’s director of prepay sales Peter Elliott said: “We are delighted to be working in an exclusive partnership with Payzone. We see this relationship as truly benefiting the customer.”
Payzone’s commercial director Richard Whalley said: “This is an exciting step for Payzone. Moving forward, we have long-term plans to help our merchants exceed previous levels of revenue and ensure consumers have continued access to vital and popular products, seven days a week.”
This includes a deal to trial the distribution of handsets with discount supermarket chain Netto, owned by Asda, from September, on a similar basis to SIM cards with an as-yet unnamed distribution partner.
PayPoint offers a similar SIM distribution service for retailers through its terminals, but holds stock directly from operators and distributes them through a third-party to outlets.
It has direct distribution agreements with 12 mobile networks and MVNOs: Vodafone, O2, Virgin, T-Mobile, Orange, Three, Tesco Mobile, Vectone, Lycamobile, Lebara Mobile, Nomi-star and Globalcell.
