B2B dealer Jelly Communications gains independence from distributor parent Frequency Telecom

Jelly Communications, the B2B arm of distributor Frequency Telecom, is now operating as a fully independent company as it reaches its fifth anniversary.

Jelly, which is a T-Mobile Business Partner and BlackBerry Alliance Member, was established in 2005 by parent Frequency with the objective of supplying mobile phone packages to small businesses. It has since grown its turnover to over £1 million and has more than 800 customer accounts across the UK.

In October last year it expanded its operations by opening an office in Wakefield, West Yorkshire, with the goal of building a strong presence in the north of England.

Frequency Telecom managing director Gareth Limpenny (pictured) said: “We started Jelly from a single desk in the corner of our main office and to see the business now formally established and expanding in both the south and north of the country is very gratifying. I have to pay tribute to the team at Jelly whose determination and enthusiasm has been a major part of its success and also to T-Mobile and BlackBerry, both of whom have provided tremendous support over the years.”

Frequency Telecom director of marketing Stephen Donovan added: “Jelly has been established for five years and has grown to a decent size and is now big enough and profitable enough to be able to stand on its own two feet.”

T-Mobile area sales manager for independent partners Jay Frankenberger said: “We’re delighted to see Jelly achieve this milestone. T-Mobile is very pleased to have helped Jelly generate the high quality connections that it has come to be recognised for and we wish the business much success for many more years.”
