Three pips Orange in mobile broadband poll

Three has been awarded the title of ‘best mobile broadband provider’ by customers in a YouGov surveyOperator Three has been recognised by independent research agency YouGov for its mobile broadband, ahead of rival network operators and last year’s winner Orange.

Three said it topped 10 of 12 quality categories in the YouGov survey for service and speeds.

The survey polled 2,000 mobile broadband customers on all networks. Three scored highest for connection speed, reliability, billing, quality of service, ease of use, value for money and user satisfaction, it claimed.

Three claims to have the highest 3G UK population coverage with 95 per cent, as well as a 35 per cent share of the mobile broadband market.

Three is expected to complete its £400 million network consolidation programme with T-Mobile in October this year, increasing its network site numbers from 7,500 to 12,500 in just 18 months. It currently has 11,400. Orange is also to share the sites for 3G coverage in due course.

Three director of mobile broadband Joe Parker said: “It’s great that our customers have rated us the Number One Mobile Broadband provider in the UK.

“It is a customer endorsement of the massive investment we have been put into our network over the past two years and the speed at which this programme is developing.  The network continues to grow in reach, speed and capacity.

“It also shows that what customers value most when it comes to mobile broadband are reliability, speed, coverage, ease of use and great pricing  areas where we excel in the latest YouGov survey.”
