Talkmobile announces new tariff set to target customers’ ‘simple demands’
Carphone Warehouse’s MVNO Talkmobile has launched a new tariff set to target demand for simplicity from customers regarding their mobile package.
The ‘Essentials’ tariff is available on both prepay and contract deals. Prepay customers will pay a flat charge of 8p for calls and 4p for texts to any network at any time. Costs are halved when connecting to another Talkmobile customer, and unlimited mobile internet is available for 30p a day.
Talkmobile said this compares to 20p-25p call and 10p text charges available on comparable prepay deals.
Talkmobile SIM cards costs £10 including £10 credit and are available through Carphone Warehouse stores and online.
Talkmobile director Paul Layte said: “Our research has shown that a third of mobile phone users in the UK are looking for clear and simple tariff pricing when considering which product to buy.
“Essentials offers customers unbeatable value calls and texts with no hidden catches at a time when keeping in touch and managing a tight budget are really important to many people.”
Contract customers can sign up for 12-month packages ranging from £15-£20 a month covering a variety of voice, text and data bundles.
Talkmobile said this is designed to offer customers the opportunity to upgrade their handset at more regular intervals, and follows in the footsteps of Tesco Mobile, which has recently been promoting its own 12-month contracts.
Layte said: “With handset technology emerging and evolving so quickly, the majority of contract customers would like to change their handset before the end of their 24-month contract date and often feel they are stuck with an outdated phone.”
