Azzurri appoints new chief executive

Major O2 connector Azzurri Communications has appointed former BT Global Services UK president Mark Quartermaine as its new CEO

Managed service provider Azzurri Communications has drafted in Mark Quartermaine (pictured) from BT Global Services as its new chief executive.

Quartermaine begins his new role on September 6, 2010.

Azzurri chairman Jim McKenna said: “We are very pleased that Mark is joining us to lead the next phase of Azzurri’s strategic plan for growth.

“He brings a wealth of experience in our sector including BT, Cable & Wireless, NSB Group and IBM. Mark has a successful track record of delivering growth and we look forward to working together to bring continued success to Azzurri Communications.”

Quartermaine said: “I am looking forward to joining Azzurri, which has an exciting customer proposition and is well positioned to exploit the next wave of technology.”
