MoCo buys software developer JIT Systems

O2 distributor MoCo has purchased software developer JIT Systems for an undisclosed fee, and said it may make further acquisitions to set itself as a fuller provider of unified comms system

MoCo has acquired Sussex-based software distributor JIT Systems’ base of around 70 customers and three staff.

O2 distributor MoCo said it can now provide and develop various hosting, cloud computing and bespoke software services in-house, and broaden its portfolio within its base. Trading as MoCo Software Solutions, the business will operate as a separate entity.

MoCo managing director Ian Robinson (pictured) said: “We’ve always aligned closely with partners. Where we can’t provide a certain solution ourselves, we try to know companies that can do that, and to refer customers to those suppliers.

“If synergies mean it would be better we join forces as businesses, and demand is there, then we will look to do that. It is a way to control quality and workflow.

“We’re talking to another company about a similar acquisition but there is still a lot to work out; we need to be sure it makes better sense to work together.”

JIT Systems designed MoCo’s IT systems and web portal, covering sales, ordering, stock control, connections and revenue streams, and optimised it specifically for introduction of revenue share by O2 in 2008.

Robinson said: “This enables us to provide a more complete service to our customers. We’re now able to offer a full implementation rather than just half the story and that’s a key thing that we’ve been looking at”
