The Wave 723 will become the next handset to run off Samsung’s own open platform, available in the UK in Q4
Samsung has launched the Wave 723, the latest smartphone to use its own open platform, bada. It will be available in the UK in Q4.
The Wave 723 comes with a 3.2-inch LCD screen with the Social Hub enabling users to store all contacts from their email, Facebook and phonebook to one central address book. Users also have direct access to the Samsung Apps store and a leather flip cover is included to protect the handset.
The Samsung bada platform allows for the open development of applications. The Wave 723 is developed based on the bada SDK 1.1, with 1.1 Auto-UI scaling meaning developers can reproduce applications to work on the Wave 723 from already developed bada applications.
Samsung Mobile UK and Ireland head Simon Stanford said: “The launch of this device clearly underlines our commitment to smartphone products on different platforms and forms part of our strategy to deliver a wide range of handsets designed to suit a multitude of users.”
