A round-up of deals available from mobile retailers online and on the high street
Customers can pick up the LG Optimus GT540 on Orange and T-Mobile for £99.95, with £50 taken off the original price. With a £10 topup the Orange tariff will give customers 300 texts and free web access, with the T-Mobile plan offering unlimited texts with the same top-up. The Nokia 5230 is given a push on Vodafone and is available for £77.95. The tariff offers 300 texts and 100 minutes with a £10 top-up. Carphone’s ‘Deal of the Week’ is the Alcatel OT255 on prepay. With half the original price knocked off it, it can be bought for £13.95 with an Orange tariff offering 300 texts and free web access.
The retailer has the BlackBerry Pearl 3G 9105 exclusively in white and is giving it away for £20 a month on O2 and Orange deals. The O2 plan gives 100 minutes and 3,000 texts over 18 months whereas the Orange tariff offers 100 minutes, 3,000 texts, unlimited calls to Magic Numbers, 500MB of web access and unlimited email over 24 months. Customers can also bag themselves £100 worth of high street vouchers and can do this by registering their name and email address on the website by September 3.
The network is recommending Samsung prepay phones – the Libre, Monte and Monte Slide. Both the Libre and Monte cost £49 on a range of tariffs. The Monte Slide is £149 and can be taken out on any one of Orange’s prepay plans. For a limited time only, two of Orange’s own branded handsets – the Rio and Lisbon – are available at knockdown prices. The Rio costs £55 on the Dolphin plan offering free email, browsing and texts. The Lisbon, at £35 on the Canary plan, offers 100 evening and weekend minutes.
Customers can get the Nokia E63 for £18 a month when they sign up to the Talker 900 tariff, which offers a mix of 900 minutes and texts as well as 1GB of internet and 5,000 Three-to-Three minutes a month. The Nokia 5230 is available for £15 a month on the Internet Texter 300 plan, offering 300 minutes, 5,000 texts, 500MB of mobile web and 5,000 Three-to-Three minutes.
H&M vouchers to the value of £20 are on offer when customers buy the Samsung Tocco Lite for £80 on prepay with four tariffs to choose from – Text and Web (300 texts and 500MB of web), Favourite Place (500 minutes to other O2 mobiles and landlines), Your Country (50 minutes to an international mobile or landline) or Unlimited (unlimited O2-to-O2 calls and texts). Customers can also pick up the deal on the network’s prepay SIM-only Simplicity deal, which offers unlimited texts when a £5 top-up is made.
Fonehouse is pushing its first ever consumer incentive, which sees a customer and guest win a trip to New York. It coincides with the release of the sixth series of serial CSI: NY. Customers taking new contracts or upgrading by the end of September will be entered into a draw for flights and accommodation for three nights in the Big Apple. The HTC Wildfire is also available for £20 a month on a T-Mobile contract offering 300 minutes, 300 texts and one free ‘flexible booster’ which includes unlimited texts, unlimited internet and unlimited calls to other T-Mobile numbers.
