Manufacturer set to unveil follow up to successful Desire handset
HTC will announce the follow up to its popular Desire handset this week, with the Desire HD. It is expected to be released mid-October, Mobile News understands.
The Desire HD will be based on the Android 2.2 system and will follow the same form factor as the HD2 with a 4.3-inch touchscreen. It is expected to come with an eight-megapixel camera with a dual LED flash and HD video recording.
The Desire has suffered stock shortages because of its popularity, which has seen it sell in twice the volume of any other HTC device.
Nokia is to announce its new flagship E7 smartphone at Nokia World on September 14. The E7 will come with a four-inch touchscreen and run on the Symbian 3 platform. LG is also to announce new handsets this week.
