B2B dealer looks to promote brand with sponsorship of Premiership rugby union team
Activ Telecom has become one of the main club sponsors of Premiership Rugby team Newcastle Falcons as it looks to promote its brand.
B2B dealer Activ Telecom has signed the one-year deal to sponsor the team during its 2010/2011 season. The Activ Telecom logo will be displayed across the back of players’ shirts. All the team’s games will show on channels Sky and ESPN. Its logo will also appear on official club merchandise and documentation including match day tickets, official programmes and all internal paper work.
In addition, Activ Telecom has a box at the Falcons’ Kingston Park stadium with the deal, and will hold corporate events before each game with customers and partners. One of the stands will also feature “heavy” branding coverage. The firm has also taken sponsorship of England fly half Joel Hodgson for the season, which will involve him in photo calls and appearances at the company’s various events and activities. Activ Telecom refused to discuss the fee for the package.
Director Duncan Edward (pictured) said: “The Falcons represent the North East and North East values. Both parties are focused on developing a longterm relationship. It is a fantastic step for Activ Telecom and accomplishes some of our regional business objectives and raises our brand profile in the community.”
Activ Telecom is currently negotiating a distribution deal with Three to allow it to distribute to consumers in addition to its B2B licence, which its directors Ian Gillespie, Michael Fitspatrick and Duncan Edward inherited from the sale of Fone Logistics.
