LG launches first mobiles in Optimus series

One and Chic confirmed as the first two handsets from LG’s new Optimus series of smartphones

LG has unveiled the One and Chic as the first two handsets from its new Optimus handset portfolio.

The handsets are based on Android 2.2, the latest version of the platform, and also enable business users to sync wit5h Outlook Calendar.

The Optimus One (pictured left) comes with a 3.2-inch screen and camera with face tracking and smile shot. It also includes the LG App Advisor, which recommends 10 highly rated applications every two weeks. It will go on sale in Europe in October followed by other EMEA and Asia-Pacific countries.

The Optimus Chic (pictured right) offers an on-screen feature to allow users to remotely control the device from their PC, while LG Air Sync keeps users updated with its ability to wirelessly sync contacts, photos and other information with computer and cloud database. Multimedia content can also be shared with other DLNA (Digital Living Network Alliance) devices such as televisions, AV systems and laptop computers. The Optimus Chic will be available in Europe from November with other markets in Asia-Pacific to follow.
