Accessories distributor Kondor is scheduled to move to a new purpose-built premises in April next year that will be 50 per cent bigger than its current base in Dorset
Distributor Kondor is to swap is existing base in Wimborne, Dorset, for a new head office and distribution centre in nearby Christchurch next year. The new site will be 50 per cent bigger.
The building, 13 miles from its current base, represents 60,000 square foot of space across three floors, reaching 10 metres high. Its existing premises covers 40,000 square foot on a single storey.
The new plans include offices, meeting rooms, social areas, a showroom, training area, photographic studio, merchandising space and warehousing facilities.
Office space will also almost double from 8,000 sq. ft to 15,000 sq. ft, with plans to recruit up to 10 staffers in the months following the move as part of the company’s expansion.
The accessories distributor said the move was necessary to accommodate growth to date and to plan for further business developments in the future.
Recent business wins include the supply of Three prepay handsets, data SIM cards and mobile broadband dongles, BlackBerry accessories and Samsung MP3 player, Galaxy S handset and Galaxy Tab accessories.
Kondor managing director Rob Haycock said: “Kondor’s success has meant a move is essential. The new site will be large enough to continue to accommodate our existing business and to grow.
“We are moving our existing four warehouses into the one space, which will improve efficiency and benefit our customers hugely. We will keep our customers and suppliers well-informed of the move as things develop and the logistical plans are already being put in place to ensure absolute minimal disruption to our business practice.”
