Distributor Micro-P is to sell the Dell Streak tablet device when retail exclusivity with O2 and Carphone Warehouse comes up mid-October
IT and mobile hardware distributor is to sell the Dell Streak tablet to the dealer, reseller and retailer channels in the UK and Ireland when its exclusivity with O2 and Carphone Warehouse expires mid-October.
As it stands, O2 and Carphone Warehouse hold sole rights to sell the product in the UK.
Micro-P is the exclusive distributor of Dell consumer laptops to the retail market, both physical and online, in the UK and Ireland. It will offer the Dell Streak via its UK and Irish reseller channels, the latter run via subsidiary Sharptext.
The Dell Streak runs Google’s Android operating system, and is powered by a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon mobile processor. It features a five-inch screen, five megapixel camera and 3G, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.
Micro-P managing director Gerry O’Keeffe said: “The Streak is inbetween a smartphone and a tablet, and is making new ground in the market. It is a very useful product to be able to offer.”
