Everything Everywhere joint venture sees Orange-owned distributor now become a T-Mobile stockist
Mainline Digital Communications has been confirmed as a T-Mobile distributor, adding to the long-standing supplier agreement it holds with Orange. It now joins Midland Distribution, T-Mobile’s other recent addition to its distribution network, and GK Telecom.
Mainline managing director Andrew Boden revealed to Mobile News in July that Mainline was in talks with T-Mobile to become a distributor for it. Mainline is part-owned by Orange UK, whose Everything Everywhere joint venture with T-Mobile now enables the distributor to sell T-Mobile also.
The distributor said it can now offer two distinct brands and product ranges, providing dealers with the opportunity to offer their customers “more choice and value for money” whilst continuing to take advantage of Mainline’s commercial terms and dealer support.
It added that as T-Mobile doesn’t offer paired SIM cards and handsets, there is more flexibility to mix and match mobiles and phone numbers within a customer account.
Mainline director of dealer sales Gail Hollinshead said: “The recent network developments place us in a very strong position. We can provide a complete package to existing dealers and new prospects. The Orange and T-Mobile brands work in synergy together and provide even stronger network coverage, giving our dealers the best proposition in the market.”
Midland Distribution is offering dealers 15 per cent ongoing revenue on all new T-Mobile connections with upfront commissions and cash only upgrades.
Midland Distribution managing director Peter Liley said: “Currently the biggest opportunity for independent dealers to make money is offered by promoting the T-Mobile and Orange networks, which now benefit from unparallel UK coverage which the combined network infrastructure offers.”
