Android 2.2 HTC handset to launch across Europe in November; UK launch expected in Q1 2011
HTC will launch the Android-powered Gratia handset into European markets in November, although the UK will not receive the device until the first quarter of next year.
The HTC Gratia features the new Android 2.2 operating system, a wrap-around soft cover to eliminate hard edges and a five-megapixel camera. HTC Gratia also features the HTC Sense user interface.
It is the European version of the US-only HTC Aria device, which has a 3.2-inch capacitive touchscreen, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, although only offering Android 2.1.
It will be available through mobile operators and retailers across major European markets from November 2010. It will be available in the UK from Q1 next year. UK operator details are as yet unavailable.
HTC EMEA president Florain Seiche said: “HTC Gratia offers something completely different. We can’t wait to bring HTC Gratia to our customers in Europe.”
