Fixed line dealer launches voicemail platform to extend reach into mobile; plans data bundles and BlackBerry offer
B2B fixed line dealer Unicom has launched a voicemail platform to support its mobile product, while researching additional services to offer customers.
Unicom started selling mobile in May after signing with Orange MVNA Transatel to create its own MVNO SIMS and tariffs, and signed up its 1,000th mobile customer in September. It has stated aims to achieve 3,000 mobile subscribers by Christmas.
It already has a fixed line customer base of more than 90,000 SMEs in the UK, and achieved pre-tax profit of £12.8 million of turnover of £50.5 million in its most-recent full-year results, with plans to increase that this year financial year.
Audio services supplier PH Audio has been signed up to provide customised voicemail prompts. PH Audio already supplied Unicom with hold music at its head office functions.
Unicom operations director Chris Earle said: “We wanted to bring that professional feel to our mobile product so we asked [PH Audio] if they would be interested in providing us with recordings for our voicemail prompts.”
Earle added that Unicom is also working on developing its mobile product further, with the addition soon of data bundles offering mobile customers 100MB or 500MB monthly allowances, as well as BlackBerry and MicroSIM offerings.
