A round-up of deals available from mobile retailers online and on the high street

‘Half price line rental’ are the buzz words this week at Phones 4U. When customers opt for the Nokia 6700 on an O2 contract offering 600 minutes and unlimited texts for £30 a month, they’ll be given 15 months half price line rental. Those opting for the BlackBerry Pearl 9105 on Vodafone on a £35 a month deal offering 1,000 minutes and unlimited texts will pick up 14 months half price line rental. The 6700 takes centre stage in another deal, this time involving a physical gift.

The network is offering double minutes on selected BlackBerry deals. Customers can pick up a free Bold 9700, Curve 9300 and Pearl 9150 for £30 a month and bag themselves 1,500 minutes, 250 texts and 500MB of data a month. Vodafone’s unified communications products, One, OneNet and OneNet Express, are also given a push, targeting business customers.

Customers can pick up a free BlackBerry Curve 9300 on a Dolphin 20 deal with 100 minutes, unlimited texts and free BlackBerry email. There’s 50 per cent off Samsung accessories, with cases for the Samsung Genio in black, orange, yellow and pink costing £3.13 each.

The Nokia 5230 in black is available on an Internet Texter 300 tariff for £15 a month offering 300 minutes, 5,000 texts, 5,000 minutes to other Three mobiles and 500MB of data. The Sony Ericsson Zylo in silver is available for £13 a month on the Internet Talker 300 plan, coming with a mix of 300 minutes and texts, 5,000 minutes to other Three mobiles and 500MB of data.

The retailer is heavily pushing its latest consumer promotion. It has partnered with Universal Studios to run a joint promotion surrounding new animated film Despicable Me. It runs until October 31 and offers anyone taking out a new connection or upgrade the chance to enter a prize draw and win a family trip to Iceland to see the Northern Lights.

Carphone has secured an exclusive on a limited edition X Factor variant of the Nokia 5228 on prepay that comes preloaded with content from the music talent contest. It costs £69.95 on T-Mobile with unlimited texts and 500 MB of data and on Orange with 300 texts and free web access. Both are dependent on a £10 top-up. There’s another exclusive on show in the form of the Samsung Tocco Lite in silver. It’s now half price at £49.99 on prepay and comes on the same deals as the X-Factor edition of the Nokia 5228.

The Nokia N8 is given a big push, with T-Mobile giving away a free HDMI cable with the phone to enable users to watch videos from their handset on a big screen. It’s free from £35 a month and comes with 900 minutes, 500 texts and unlimited web access. Those choosing the HTC HD Mini on a £25 a month contract will get themselves 300 minutes, 300
texts, unlimited web access and a ‘flexible booster’ for the month, as well as Co-Pilot’s Sat Nav software and car accessories kit.
