Vodafone has apologised to its channel partners after an email containing detailed and confidential information of all its dealers was sent out last week
Vodafone has been forced to apologise to its entire dealer base after an email it sent out related to new partner terms and conditions included an attachment with detailed listings of all its platinum, gold and silver partners, as well as mobile phone numbers and email addresses of personnel from each company.
Vodafone sales director for SME Rob Shardlow sent an email to all partners on Friday to apologise for the error, and stated an internal investigation would be launched and measures taken to ensure such a mistake does not happen again.
Shardlow also requested all recipients of the original email to deleted it immediately.
Shardlow said in the email: “Earlier this afternoon we contacted you via email regarding our customer contracts and terms and conditions. As part of this email we inadvertently attached a full list of all our partners by tier, including confidential contact information. Please delete this email.
“We apologise and would like to let you know what steps are taking place with immediate effect. We are launching a full internal investigation including carrying out a root cause analysis and revised processes will be put in place.”
A Vodafone spokesperson said: “An email was sent to some of our partners last week regarding customer contracts and terms and conditions and some other details were inadvertently included. We are launching a full internal investigation and we are in contact with our partners so they are fully up to speed with the action we are planning.”
