John Caudwell attacked in robbery

Former Phones 4U boss receives head injury after Staffordshire home raided by masked robbers

Former Phones 4U boss John Caudwell was left injured after masked robbers broke into his home and stole cash and jewellery.

Staffordshire Police said Caudwell, his partner Claire Johnson and a female member of staff were inside his Broughton Hall home in Eccleshall on Monday (November 1) evening when a number of men burst into the property, stealing cash and jewellery before escaping across neighbouring fields.

Caudwell was hit on the forehead with an iron bar during the robbery, according to Staffordshire Police, and sustained a one-inch gash. He also sustained some bruising to his arm.

He was treated at home by paramedics before having a check-up at Nuffield Hospital.

Both women were also assaulted, although not with a weapon and neither received any injuries.

Staffordshire Police have appealed for information on the robbery, including suspicious activity or vehicles nearby or in villages surrounding Broughton Hall.
