O2 signs Daisy as strategic partner

O2 UK is swift to bring Daisy Group closer following its purchase of key O2 partner SpiriTel by inducting it as strategic partner in its Centre of Excellence club of elite dealers

O2 UK has moved quickly following Daisy Group’s £27 million purchase of service provider SpiriTel, an O2 Centre of Excellence partner, to appoint Daisy in its place as ‘strategic’ and Centre of Excellence partner.

Daisy will establish a standalone O2 sales team with the appointment.

O2 business sales director Ben Dowd (pictured, left) said: “We have worked closely with the team at Daisy throughout its recent acquisitions and it will bring significant benefits to our customer base. Customer satisfaction is a key focus for us and in our experience the more products and services a customer buys the more likely the more satisfied they will be.

“Our partners continue to set the benchmark in the UK and have access to the best support from O2. Over the past few months we have seen market leading performance across all our partners and this is something we are keen to see continue. We are dedicated to evolving the Centre of Excellence principles ensuring we involve all our partners in this process through an open dialogue. We believe it is only through these true partnerships that our channel solutions will succeed.”

Daisy Group chief executive Matthew Riley (pictured, right) said: “A key benefit of the acquisition of SpiriTel is the opportunity to form a closer partnership with O2.

The SpiriTel acquisition increases our competitive position in the mobile section of the unified communications market and gives us a great opportunity to serve the SME and mid market even more effectively with O2 as a strategic partner. This acquisition is also consistent with our ambition to further consolidate the fragmented communications market.”

Daisy Group has picked off a number of reseller businesses recently, including O2 distributors Anglia Telecom, as part of its purchase of Redstone Telecom, and Fone Logistics.

Daisy can sell O2 airtime and products to customers directly, and via the dealer relationships held by Anglia Telecom and Fone Logsistics.

As well, Daisy Group is selling integrated PBX and cloud based VOIP solutions, voice, data, and mobile services.
