Recycler S3 Interactive reaches £15 million turnover and looks to move into US market

Glasgow-based mobile handset recycler S3 Interactive has increased its turnover by 65 per cent to £15 million, compared with last year, latest figures from the company show.

Founded in 2003, S3 Interactive now has offices in London and in Holland and is looking to expand into the US.

S3 Interactive managing director Philip Johnston said the company’s buoyant showing through the recession is down to strong global demand for mobiles.

“Even through the downturn the worldwide demand for mobile phones has held firm. With such huge numbers of phones in circulation our business has rocketed over the past five years,” said Johnston.

Johnston said S3 Interactive planned to double turnover to more than £30 million by 2013.
