A round-up of deals available from mobile retailers online and on the high street


“Orange recommends BlackBerry smartphones on prepay” at the moment.The Curve 8520 in black and silver costs £139 and the recently released Bold 9780 is priced at £349. Both are subject to the customer choosing the Dolphin prepay plan and adding a £30 top-up on purchase. Orange is also including a free LTD watch worth £70 in its ‘Christmas Gift Box’ with every prepay phone priced over £30.


Phones 4U is giving away a range of goodies with handset deals – money, games consoles, LCD televisions, MP3 players, tablet PCs and digital cameras. These include the Samsung Tocco Lite on O2 for £30 a month,which comes with 600 minutes and unlimited texts, with a free Nintendo Wii and £50 automatic cashback thrown in as a sweetener.


There’s a BlackBerry sale on at Carphone.The Curve 8520 is available for free on selected £15 a month deals on Orange, O2 and Vodafone. The best of the bunch sees Orange offer all variants of the handset with 100 minutes and unlimited texts, O2 throws in 100 minutes and unlimited texts for the black variant only and Vodafone gives away 100 minutes and 500 texts with the variant colour also.


Customers can pick up a free Videocon 32-inch LCD television on a £35 a month T-Mobile deal when they opt for the BlackBerry Curve 9300 in red.The plan comes with 900 minutes, 500 texts, free BlackBerry email and one ‘flexible booster’. If they choose to spend an additional £5 a month for the same allowances, they can bag themselves a free 120GB PS3 Slim instead.


Shoppers can pick up a free £30 M&S voucher when they buy a prepay phone for more than £40.Also the Samsung Monte has had £20 knocked off its price and now slips below the £100 mark at £99.99 while the Nokia 5230 Ovi Music unlimited handset, which is exclusive to T-Mobile, now costs £89.99 having been priced at £99.99.


Three Sony Ericsson handsets are promoted as some of O2’s best prepay deals. The X8 now costs £130, the Zylo £85 and the Spiro £60. Customers can also save 20 per cent on iPhone cases sporting décor from the popular mobile game Angry Birds. These come in green, yellow and red and now cost £16 each.


The HTC 7 Mozart comes with a number of free gifts.Those signing up to the Dolphin 35 price plan, which comes with 700 minutes, unlimited texts and 500MB of data a month, can choose to receive a free iPod Shuffle 2GB, Roadcom Sat Nav system or Red Hair Devils hair straighteners as a free gift. Shoppers can also get a free Kodak HD camcorder if they choose the Nokia 6303 on Dolphin 25 (300 minutes, unlimited texts and 500MB of data) or on Dolphin 30 for 200 additional minutes a month.
