Company’s profit up for ninth consecutive year leading to top business award for CEO

Fixed line service provider XLN Telecom’s profit has trebled to £12 million leading to a top award for its chief executive Christian Nellemann (pictured).

XLN’s turnover increased by 50 per cent from £35 million to £54 million last year but was still £6 million below predictions of £60 million that were made nearly one year ago.

Despite the shortfall, the latest posting is consistent trend – XLN has  more than doubled its turnover every year for nine years.

In recognition for the constant rise in turnover, Nelleman has been awarded the Crème de la Crème Business award for outstanding business achievement for his ability to constantly increase company revenue and profits.

The company has over 120,000 customers and over 150,000 connections on its books.

Nellemann told Mobile News last year his company’s success comes down to its targeting of the SME market.

Nellemann said: “When I say we target small businesses, I mean the small business market. You know, the SME market is defined as businesses of between one and 250 employees.

“I don’t consider business with more than 50 to be small businesses. And we target companies with five employees maximum. We have no interest in anything larger.”

Crème de la Crème joint founder, chief executive and chairman of the judging panel Simon Burgess said: “Christian demonstrates an ability not only to identify substantial new business opportunities, but also to follow through and deliver relentlessly on the initial vision.”

Virgin boss Richard Branson is a previous winner of the award.

  1. But XLN's after sales service is awful (just look at some of the reports with Google) and their "rolling 12 month contract" is obscene. Go to Talk Talk Business – much faster and cheaper !
