HTC follows LG with its first 3D glasses-free smartphone, to go on sale in Europe next month
HTC will release its first 3D-glasses-free smartphone, the EVO 3D, in Europe from next month. It will follow LG’s release of its own 3D glasses-free handset.
The EVO 3D comes with a 4.3-inch HD screen and is powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, as well as HD video recording and playback and dual five megapixel cameras, where users can switch between 2D and 3D formats.
It also features HTC latest version of its own user interface, HTC Sense. Users can customise the active lockscreen to turn it into a real-time window of content from photos to their latest social network feeds.
HTC president of EMEA Florian Seiche said: “Smartphones have revolutionised how people communicate and entertain themselves. You can now carry your favourite films, music, photos and games in your pocket. The HTC EVO 3D allows people to explore this new technology beyond the living room, enabling them to capture and share their lives with family and friends in 3D.”
