Industry vet whose role has become redundant says he hopes to stay in mobile

T-Mobile UK national sales manager for independent partners John Fannon has left the company after 14 years. His role is understood to have become redundant following a company restructure which has seen 1,200 job losses.

Fannon joined T-Mobile’s previous guise One2One in June 1997 as senior distribution account manager before becoming national sales manager for T-Mobile’s business partner programme in November 2002.

He began his most recent role in March 2008 heading up its independent partner programme which includes dealers, postpay and prepay distributors and B2B specialists connecting T-Mobile.

He oversaw a restructure of T-Mobile’s indirect channel in November 2008, with more than 500 indirect dealers dropped.

He declined to reveal his next move but expressed a desire to remain in the mobile industry.

Fannon said: “I’ve spent many successful years at T-Mobile and have seen it grown immensely. I’m involved in various conversations at present regarding my next move. I would very much like to remain in this industry.”
