Chinese manufacturer says its total shipments will rise to 20 million this year – up from original projections of between 12 and 15 million
Huawei will aim to ship 20 million smartphones across its global markets this year its chief strategy office Victor Xu says.
The prediction is up on the 12 million to 15 million smartphones Huawei initially predicted it would ship in 2011.
Xu also says the company will aim to ship 170 million units of cellphones and other products although he did not refer to what the other products were.
He did also not specify how many of the devices shipped would be Huawei own brand devices.
Nokia shipped 31 million smartphones in the fourth quarter of 2010 while Apple moved 16 million in the same period.
