Milton Keynes firms teamed up two months ago to turn IT customers into mobile connections and and have already signed up 200 new mobile customers
A recently formed joint venture between Milton Keynes based Mirus IT Solutions and mobile dealer Olicomm expects to rack up 3,000 mobile connections within the next two years.
The venture, called Mirus Telephony, has already signed up 200 connections in the two months since the firms began working together, and Mirus IT managing director Paul Tomlinson (pictured left) expects to take that total to 1,000 within the next ten months.
The majority of the connections are intially expected to come from Mirus IT’s existing customer base, which covers around 10,000 users.
Mirus said it decided to pursue the partnership after deciding it needed to offer its customers mobile handsets directly rather than relying on arrangements with a range of third parties.
The firm said the partnership with Olicomm allows it to offer handsets at competitve prices without having to “begin at the bottom” in building relationships with handset manufacturers and operators.
Olicomm currently serves around 2,000 connections in the Milton Keynes area, including the MK Dons Football Club, and larger legal firms in the area.
Olicomm managing director James Badham (pictured right) said: “We are genuinely excited about the joint venture with Mirus I.T Solutions.
“We have worked closely for a number of years and both parties strongly believed that the time was right to offer I.T products and services and Telecoms solutions under one roof especially with the mobile networks roadmaps heavily focused on converged business.”
