Griffin launches ‘app-powered’ accessories in the UK

Accessories firm behind the iTrip launches range of accessories designed to work in tandem with iPHone, iPad and iPod Touch apps

Accessories maker Griffin Technology is launching a new range of Apple accessories designed to work with iPhone and iPad apps in UK.

The new products will only be available in Apple stores as the firm looks to test demand for the range.

The range includes: the DJ Cable, which allows users of the dJay iPhone and iPad app made by Algoriddm to listen to tracks they are cueing up whilst another track is playing through a speaker system, the Crayola ColorStudio HD, a pen which lets children colour in pictures on an app made by Crayola, and a bluetooth device called the Beacon that turns an iPhone or iPad into a universal remote control.

The cable is already available from Apple for £14.99, while the Crayola pen (£24.99) and Beacon (£54.99) will be available from the start of August.

Griffin, which is based in Nashville in the US, produced the iTrip, an iPod accessory which allowed drivers to tune into their iPod using their car radio.
