RIM intros BlackBerry Management Centre for Small Business

Free online service from Research In Motion aimed at small businesses to centrally manage their BlackBerry smartphones in the cloud

Research In Motion (RIM) has launched BlackBerry Management Centre, a free online service for small businesses to centrally manage company or employee-owned BlackBerry smartphones in the cloud.

The service is designed to protect business-related content stored on the handsets and is designed for businesses with up to 100 BlackBerry smartphones that access email from an internet service provider (ISP) or web-based email services like Gmail, Hotmail and Yahoo.

Small businesses can use BlackBerry Management Centre to wirelessly back up BlackBerry handsets automatically to aid in the recovery of lost business related content stored on the device.

It protects content on an employee’s lost or stolen handset by remotely locking it any, if necessary, wiping the contents, including the microSD card. Users can also locate a lost smartphone by remotely locking it, initiating a loud ring and displaying a message on the home screen.
