Mobile News understands Dealer headed up by former Excell Communications director Richard Taylor closes two weeks after it laid off 30 staff

Telford based dealer Premier Telesales has ceased trading, two weeks after it laid off 30 staff and moved to a new premises, Mobile News understands.

All customer enquiries are now being directed to the dealer’s distributor GK Telecom, which says it is helping Premier Telesales’ former clients on a case by case basis.

Speaking to Mobile News GK Telecom network director Debbie Young said the distributor had no intention of bailing Premier Telesales out of its financial burden which is understood to include over £200,000 of unpaid buyout costs.

“All we have been given is a piece of information from their solicitors that they have ceased trading,” Young said.

“We have been invited to instigate for insolvency proceedings which we haven’t done and we have no intention of doing. We have no reason to throw good money at the company.”

“We are currently fielding all the customer service enquiries from customers as we don’t feel it is a wise thing to leave customers completely in the dark.”

Premier Telesales managing director Richard Taylor who was previously a director at Excell Communications was not available for comment.

Excell Communications went bust in February owing an estimated £1.2 million.

Customer grief

One Premier Telesales customer says money, regarding the buyout of a former contract as well as a bill with his former operator for £700 is still owed to him by Premier Telesales.

The customer said: “There is no way to contact them and the cheques don’t seem to be coming. Even after numerous calls when I could contact them I was constantly fobbed off saying they hadn’t received the invoices.

“When they finally accepted they had received them I was told it would take 28 days to process, in this time it seems the manager I was in contact with has been made redundant.”

The customer says he has since been redirected to GK Telecom which told him to forward his contract invoices to it and have given him assurances all money will be paid within a week.
