Everything Everywhere has introduced a new mobile TV platform to deliver live-streamed video to Orange and T-Mobile customers.

The new platform was developed with content delivery firm Red Bee Media, and will be powered by the company’s RedPlayer.

The new platform will allow Orange and T-Mobile customers to stream the the TV services to tablets for the first time, and video streams will be optimised for different devices.

Channels available on the service include ITV1, ITV2, ITN News, Sky News, Sky Sports 1, and National Geographic.

Everything Everywhere said that as a result of the the new platform and other yet-to-be-announced changes to its mobile TV offering will increase the number of mobile TV subscribers across Orange and T-Mobile six fold over the next three years.

Everything Everywhere director of products Paul Jevons (pictured) said: “ The new delivery platform is just the start, and we have several significant developments planned for our service over the next 12 months which will really transform the way consumers view mobile TV.

“We’ll also be looking at new technologies as they become available, including the ability to stream 3D content to handsets with 3D capable screens – so our customers will only continue to receive the best services we are able to offer them.”
