HTC Sensation XE unveiled with Beats Audio

First HTC handset resulting from partnership with Dr. Dre with improved audio experience to be released later this month

HTC has unveiled the Sensation XE, the first in a new line of smartphones from the handset manufacturer from its collaboration with Beats by record producer and rapper Dr. Dre.

The Sensation XE will go on sale across EMEA and Asia Pacific, including the UK, from the end of this month. Price and availability details are yet to be announced.

The high-end handset, which is powered by a 1.5GHz processor and runs off Android, is the first to offer a ‘Beats Audio’ experience. HTC said users will notice fuller base and crisper vocals and a new level of clarity and range.

When used with the exclusive Beats by Dr. Dre in-ear headphones, which feature a remote control, the handset automatically switches to bespoke Beats by Dr. Dre sound profile, delivering audio tracks tuned specifically for the headphones. The Sensation XE will also come bundled with a 8GB or 16GB microSD card.

HTC president of global sales and marketing Jason Mackenzie said: “Audio is a crucial part of any consumer’s mobile experience and we are continually pushing the audio boundaries to encompass not only improved voice but music, movies and games.”
