Phones 4U secures HTC exclusives

Retailer announces it will exclusively stock new HTC Sensation XE from October 1 along with white versions of HTC Sensation and Radar devices

Phones 4U has today (September 14) announced it will be the exclusive launch partner for the HTC Sensation XE when the device becomes available on October 1.

As well being the first retailer in the UK to stock the new device the Phones 4U says it has also secured the rights to stock an exclusive white version of the HTC Sensation as well as the lead to market for the white HTC Radar Windows Phone 7 device.

Phones 4U trading director Scott Hooton said securing the HTC Sensation XE first was a major coup and was a perfect fit for the retailer’s youthful target market.

“As HTC and Beats work together to create a more advanced mobile audio experience for consumers, Phones 4U are delighted to be partnering with HTC to provide our customers with innovative and groundbreaking new technology that will provide them with unbeatable sound quality on their smartphones, before anyone else,” Hooton said.

“Beats by Dr. Dre is a youthful and exciting brand our core demographic can identify with. With a superior multimedia experience being on the top of our customers’ wish lists, we’re looking forward to a successful launch of the Sensation XE at Phones 4U.”

The high-end HTC Sensation handset, which is powered by a 1.5GHz processor and runs off Android, is the first to offer a ‘Beats Audio’ experience. HTC said users will notice fuller base and crisper vocals and a new level of clarity and range.

When used with the exclusive Beats by Dr. Dre in-ear headphones, which feature a remote control, the handset automatically switches to bespoke Beats by Dr. Dre sound profile, delivering audio tracks tuned specifically for the headphones. The Sensation XE will also come bundled with a 8GB or 16GB microSD card.

It will sell on the Phones 4U website and in retail stores from October 1, and will be available for free on a £36 a month contract on a range of networks.

Hooton said the relationship between Phones 4U and HTC was strengthening all the time and put the retailer in a strong position in the lead up to Christmas.

“Our customers want the very best and latest in mobile technology, and so its important that we’re able to offer them only the very best smartphone range, the very latest technology and value for money,” Hooton said.

“Our ongoing and successful working relationship with HTC means we’ve been able to add even more great smartphone exclusives to our widest ever range of exclusive white devices we’ll be offering across contract and prepay this quarter, giving Phones 4U a real point of difference as we enter the Christmas period.”
