Mobile maker launches own-brand paid for app store, and promises in-bill charging
Samsung has launched a Premium Samsung Apps for Android app store to offer paid for apps to UK customers.
The premium apps include games such as Zenonia, The Sims 3 HD, Need for Speed Shift HD and 9mm.
Only credit card billing will be supported initially, but Samsung said it plans to allow customers to pay by adding purchases to their mobile bill, or deducting them from SIM credit.
Samsung UK and Ireland mobile managing director Simon Stanford (pictured) said: “Anyone that signs up to Samsung Apps Store for Android today, will find a multitude of free and premium apps already available.
“In the spirit of providing Android users with the best possible mobile experience, it is our intention to continue to develop this premium service to ensure our customers have access to all the latest great content on Android.”
