Three extends all-you-can-eat data packages to existing contract customers and new tariffs from £18 per month to end “data fear”
Three is introducing a £3 all-you-can-eat data add-on for contract customers from October 7.
The firm is also introducing new 24-month Talk & Text contracts with all-you-can-eat data starting at £18 with a handset.
The firm said the move followed the success of its The One Plan contracts launched in December, which offer sizeable minutes and text bundles along with unlimited data for £25 per month, and its £15 a month prepay plans which have offered unlimited data since being introduced in March.
Three said the tariff changes were “aimed at eliminating data fear and the worry of massive out-of-bundle data charges”.
Three marketing director Thomas Malleschitz said: “The One Plan quickly became our number one contract tariff and our all-you-can-eat PAYG offer is our most popular bundle.
“Our customers tell us that their use of data goes up significantly over the lifetime of their contracts, as they do more and more with their handset. All-you-can-eat data means that they don’t have to worry, they can have that peace of mind for the long term on a contract of their choice.”
Three said that data usage continued to grow rapidly. The firm has seen the average amount of data consumed by customers using an iPhone 4 rocket from 488MBs per month in February this year to almost 1.2GBs per month in August.
