Phones 4U embarks on £5.2 million advertising campaign

Retailer’s biggest ever pre Christmas campaign will appear through a variety of mediums including TV, outdoor, press, digital and video on demand

Phones 4U is set to launch a new £5.2 million advertising campaign on October 1 to promote the savings it says it can provide to consumers.

The campaign which will run across TV,outdoor, press, viral, digital and video on demand (VOD) media as well as in Phones 4U stores will carry the message “Missing our deals will haunt you”.

It will aim to portray to customers that they will regret not purchasing products from Phones 4U due to the fact the retailer believes it is cheaper than the competition.

The campaign’s TV spots include two “horror- themed” 30 second films (pictured) and will be preceded by a series of two second “blips” which will run throughout a number of commercial breaks during shows such as ITV’s Celebrity Juice on September 29 and The Only Way is Essex on September 30.

Phones 4U head of brand communications Caspar Nelson says the campaign is the company’s biggest ever pre Christmas marketing spend and keeps with its focus on the youth segment of the market.

“In today’s economic climate getting a good deal is more important than ever. There is nothing more annoying than that niggling feeling you could have got a better deal,” Nelson said.

“We work really hard to find our customers the right deal for them and that’s what our new campaign focuses on, whilst retaining the kind of humour we know our customers love us for.”
