Richard Turner quits Brightstar for Google


Former Brightstar Europe UK and Ireland general manager Richard Turner has taken up role as director of Android EMEA partnerships at Google

Former Brightstar Europe managing director Richard Turner has been confirmed as Google director for Andorid EMEA partnerships, leaving Brightstar Europe after two and a half years.

Mobile News first reported Turner, whose new role will see him based in London, would join Google in issue 495 on August 15.

Turner today confirmed to Mobile News he started in his new position earlier this month.

Turner joined Brightstar Europe in April 2009 as sales director in April 2009 before being promoted to managing director for UK and Ireland in October 2010.

Turner is expected to be replaced at Brightstar Europe by former LG UK general manager Jim Michel, who left the Korean based manufacturer in August.
