Five-inch device now available to buy in the UK, with 3.7-inch version going on sale next month
Samsung has unveiled the Galaxy Wi-Fi multimedia device in two different sizes.
The five-inch product is now available at major retailers including PC World, Dixons and Amazon for £199 (8GB) and £219 (16GB), while the 3.7-inch version will be available from next month for £149 (8GB) and £169 (16GB). Both devices are available in black and white.
Both run off Android 2.3 Gingerbread and are powered by a 1GHz processor, with HD video playback and expandable memory of up to 32GB with a microSD card also available.
The five-inch Galaxy Wi-Fi comes with a 3.2-megapixel autofocus camera with LED flash whilst the 3.7-inch version houses a two-megapixel fixed focus camera with LED flash.
Both come with ‘SoundAlive’ which provides users with the ability to adjust sound levels to fit the song they are listening to or the film they are watching. Users also have access to applications via Google’s Android Market or Samsung Apps.
Samsung UK and Ireland managing director for mobile Simon Stanford said: “With the Galaxy Wi-Fi we have created a device that allows consumers all the fun and freedom of our Android Galaxy devices. The different size option mean there is something for everyone.”
