Case proven to protect the iPhone in extreme weather and working conditions, meeting or exceeding the US Department of Defense standards
US-based smartphone protective cover manufacturer Case-Mate has released its TANK case, which it said provides iPhone’s with a strong defense against extreme conditions.
The product is priced at £44.95 and is distributed by Case-Mate’s exclusive European distributor, Chessington-based Frequency Telecom.
The TANK case has passed U.S. Military Specifications, with testing showing it either met or exceeded the US Department of Defense standard for sand/dust, shock/drop, wind/rain and vibration.
Case-Mate measured TANK’s durability through third party testing performed by Detroit Testing Laboratory. It said the hammer impact test found TANK’s polycarbonate exterior is 2.5 times more impact resistant than other rugged cases.
Case-Mate chief marketing officer at its US head office Erik Attkisson said: “Sixty-seven per cent of damaged iPhones are due to cracked screens and the current market does not provide users with an effective solution.
“We saw this as an opportunity to engineer a tougher case that has the high design aesthetic our customers expect while providing critical protection for both the screen and the phone.”
