Deals with taxi and courier company Skyline and international law firm Kennedys push company’s mobile base to above 11,000 connections
Vodafone platinum partner Cortel Corporate Telecom Group has secured two deals worth more than 1,000 new connections.
London-based Cortel has signed a deal with Milton Keynes-based taxi and courier company Skyline and international law firm Kennedys for 600 and 400 connections respectively in the past two months.
The deal with Skyline saw the company take 600 connections from O2 on to Vodafone, whilst the 400 from Kennedys are a migration from Vodafone.
Cortel now has more than 11,000 mobile connections, on top of at least 10,000 fixed-line connections.
Cortel managing director Neville Sheen said: “It’s a tough market, but there is business there if you can deliver what they want.”
Cortel also recently won a contract to provide landlines for healthcare recruitment firm Nurse Plus across 26 offices but refused to discuss numbers.
Sheen said he expects business to slow down towards the end of the year because of the firm’s focus on corporate city clients.
“We tend to pick up a bit in October to November and then it fades in December. We just go on holiday,” he said.
Cortel is in the process of recruiting around 10 staff to take its total headcount to above 40 despite struggling to find new office space after its planned move to a 240m² office in the Barbican fell through in September.
