First tablet from Sony to go on sale at the retailer, with pricing starting at £349.99
The Sony Tablet, the first such device from the technology manufacturer, will be available to buy at selected Carphone Warehouse stores and via the retailer’s website from Thursday (December 15).
The 16GB Wi-Fi model will cost £349, the 32GB Wi-Fi version will be available for £429 and the 16GB Wi-Fi and 3G Sony Tablet will be priced at £449.99. Wi-Fi only models of the device run on Android 3.1 (to be upgradable to Android 3.2) and Wi-Fi/3G models are equipped with Android 3.2.
The Sony Tablet, which is powered by a 1GHz processor, comes with a 9.4-inch LED backlit HD screen, memory storage of up to 32GB with memory cards and five megapixel HD rear and 0.3 megapixel front-facing cameras.
The device is fully PlayStation certified so users can download PlayStation gaming titles. It also includes infrared technology and can be used as a fully customisable remote control for multiple home devices including televisions, Blu-ray disc players and home theatre set-ups.
