O2 customers save £5m with Priority Moments

Network reveals location-based deals scheme has saved shoppers on average £1 million a month since its launch five months ago 

O2 has revealed its location-based deals scheme, Priority Moments, has provided more than £5 million worth of savings to customers since its launch last July.

Restaurant deals have so far made up almost half of the value redemptions (48 per cent), with offers from Italian restaurant chains Zizzi and ASK, as well as Yo! Sushi and Cafe Rouge being made available to customers.

More than a quarter of the savings (26 per cent) came from high street retailers such as House of Fraser, BHS and Burton, while leisure (including cinema and travel discounts) made up exactly a quarter.

Priority Moments launched in July 2011 and has so far provided O2 customers with access to over 1,900 offers from more than 230 brands. Almost 300 repeat users have accessed Priority Moments more than 1,000 times each.

O2 marketing and consumer director Sally Cowdry said: “Over the past five months our customers have been able to take advantage of great offers from some of the country’s best loved and respected brands.

“That meant our 22 million customers could treat themselves all year round as well as their loved ones during Christmas.”

The Priority Moments application can be downloaded for free on iPhone and Android-based smartphones, with O2 customers also able to use the service on any WAP-enabled device via a mobile website.

Offers are delivered by location, with the recipient showing the offer on the screen of their handset to a member of staff in the retailer in order to receive the discount.
