Veteran Vodafone chief financial officer Mark Evans joins O2 from today replacing Ramon Ros who left two years ago
O2 has today (January 9) appointed Mark Evans (pictured) as its new chief financial officer (CFO) who joins the network from Vodafone where he held the same position in its Global Technology business.
Evans will serve on the O2’s board and report directly to CEO Ronan Dunne. He replaces Adam Castleton who has held the position of acting CFO since Ramon Ros moved to Telefónica in Spain in December 2010.
Evans spent ten years at Vodafone where he served as CFO for the UK and Ireland before being appointed to his last position.
He also worked as group financial controller at Virgin Media which he joined in 1994.
O2 CEO Ronan Dunne said: “2012 will be a hugely exciting year for Telefónica in the UK and Mark is joining at a crucial time.
“Through leading the finance team, his role is vital in making sure we deliver our business objectives and commitments. Mark’s experience and energy will be invaluable in helping lead the company to even more success this year and I’m delighted to have him on board.”
