Telefónica Digital announces it will open 51,000 square foot office space in new AirW1 development in Regent Street
Telefónica’s global business unit Telefónica Digital will set up its global headquarters in London’s Regent Street for 400 staff this summer.
Telefónica Digital aims to deliver new growth for Telefónica in areas such as cloud computing, machine to machine (M2M) and eHealth.
It will take out office space on the fourth and fifth floors totalling 51,000 square foot in The Crown Estate’s new AirW1 scheme at the southern end of Regent Street.
A fit out of the area will be finished in the summer and new technologies developed by Telefónica Digital will be deployed there as a showcase for customers and partners.
Telefónica Digital chairman and CEO Matthew Key (pictured) said: “ London is arguably the biggest hub for technology start ups outside of Silicon Valley and a global centre for the media and advertising industries.
“It attracts the best talent and, for an international business such as ours, acts as a unique bridge between Europe and the Americas.
“Our decision to invest in having a significant presence in central London’s Regent Street is clear evidence of our determination to succeed in the digital space.”
The announcement of the new facility follows the launch of a 4,500 square foot O2 flagship store on Tottenham Court Road in September with work spaces for SMEs.
