Orange launches first own-brand tablet


Operator to beging selling 7-inch Tahiti tablet this week with a separate contract or bundled with San Francisco II smartphone

Orange will this week begin selling an Android tablet called the Tahiti which is the operator’s first own-brand tablet in the UK.

The 7-inch 3G tablet runs the Android Honeycomb operating system and has a dual-core 1.2 GHz Qualcomm processor.

The Tahiti weighs 390g, comes in black or silver, and features a 5 mega-pixel camera.

It will cost £69.99 on a £25 per month, 24-month data tariff, which offer’s 1GB of anytime data and 1GB of off-peak data between 12 AM and 4 PM.

The Tahiti will also be available free as part of a £41 per month bundle with the Orange-branded San Francisco II Android smartphone on the Orange Connected contract, which comes with 2GB of data to share across both devices.
