Operator builds on Priority Moments partnership to offer free Wi-Fi at Tragus chain of 120 restaurants and cafes
O2 has struck a deal with restaurant chain Tragus to put its Wi-Fi hotspots into 120 outlets across the UK including Cafe Rouge and selected Strada and Bella Italia resteraunts.
The service will be free for customers on all networks.
The Wi-Fi deal is the first the operator has signed with a restaurant chain.
The partnership builds upon O2’s existing relationship with Targus through Priority Moments, which offers location-based discounts at stores, restaurants and cafes including Cafe Rouge and Bella Italia.
Under the deal, Tragus will be able to build custom landing pages featuring customer messages and promotions for customers who sign up to use the Wi-Fi hotpots.
O2 Wi-Fi MD Gavin Franks said: “This agreement takes us a step closer towards achieving our vision of changing the public Wi-Fi landscape within three years, by offering people free and fast wifi connections in the places they want it most.
“Working with Tragus, we have been able to combine our services, meaning that customers are now able to benefit from free wifi with their meal while taking advantage of exclusive discounts through Priority Moments.”
Tragus group IT director Derek Risk said: “We are always looking for ways to improve our customers’ dining experience and are pleased to be able to offer anyone who dines in our restaurants free wifi, as well as incentives through the Priority Moments app.
“Thanks to O2’s mobile expertise and enhanced quality of network connectivity, we can deliver an impressive user experience, as well as benefiting from greater insight and understanding of our customers’ needs.”
