New four year deal means O2 continues as main shirt sponsor and and exclusive telecommunications provider to the Rugby Football Union until 2016
O2 has renewed its sponsorship agreement with the English Rugby Football Union (RFU) until 2016, building on the relationship which started between the two organisations in 1995.
The deal will see O2 maintain its brand presence on the shirts of both the senior mens and women England teams as well as the England Saxons.
O2 will also remain as the exclusive telecommunications supplier to the RFU and continue its English rugby offerings to its customers through its Priority Moments rewards scheme which offers O2 customers match tickets and special offers.
The operator will also provide funding to the development of grass roots rugby in England through its O2 Scrum on the Beach and O2 Touch activities.
O2 CEO Ronan Dunne (pictured left of the main group) said: “We’ve been a proud sponsor of England Rugby for over 16 years and together with the RFU we are committed to building upon our achievements and creating great experiences for customers and fans.
“Working together with the RFU we will continue to look at how we can use technology to extend the rugby experience beginning with expanding Priority for rugby fans on O2.”
