Retailer gains exclusive rights to begin selling new colour variant of the Nokia handset from early next month
Phones 4U has secured exclusive rights to range a white variant of the Nokia Lumia 800 from early next month.
It will be available for free from £20.50 a month on a choice of networks and joins the current black, magenta and cyan colour variants.
The retailer was the first in the UK to offer customers the opportunity to try the Lumia 800 in store before deciding to pre-order the handsets, which went on sale nationwide on November 16.
Phones 4U chief commercial officer Scott Hooton said: “Nokia’s first smartphone to run Windows Phone Mango was one of our top selling smartphones over Christmas, and continues to be a popular choice.
“Our customers recognise us as being the destination of the white smartphone, and as it continues to be one of the most popular and desired smartphone colours, we’re pleased to be offering our customers an even greater range of these colour devices now we exclusively have the Nokia Lumia 800 in white as part of our extensive range of white mobile phones.”
The Lumia 800 was the first handset to be released by Nokia following the signing of an agreement with Microsoft last February to use the firm’s Windows Phone operating system on its handsets.
It runs off the Windows Phone 7.5 Mango OS and is powered by a 1.4GHz processor. It contains a 3.7-inch AMOLED touchscreen, eight megapixel camera, HD video recording capabilities and 16GB of external memory.
It also features a number of Nokia applications, such as Nokia Drive Navigation, Nokia Maps, Nokia Music and Mix Radio.
