MWC: Alcatel to release 12 new handset models this year

Manufacturer will also make moves into the tablet and mobile broadband markets as it looks to expand its product portfolio

Alcatel One Touch has announced plans to expand its handset portfolio with the release of 12 models this year, as well as moves into the tablet and mobile broadband markets.

The smartphone releases will range from entry-level Android devices, such as the One Touch Smart 918, to higher-spec Android smartphones with capabilities such as HDMI and DLNA, which will be seen on the One Touch Ultra 995 (pictured).

The company also plans to launch the One Touch Tab 20, a seven-inch Wi-Fi tablet running Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.
