Data Select unveils three new JCB Toughphones

Trio of durable handsets added to range, including one that runs Android 2.3 Gingerbread and houses front and rear cameras

Data Select unveiled three new JCB Toughphones at its 14th Platinum Club event at the construction equipment manufacturer’s headquarters in Rocester, Staffordshire today.

All three handsets are waterproof and dust proof and come with a two-year warranty.

The Pro Smart (pictured right) is powered by a 800MHz processor and runs Android 2.3 Gingerbread. It has a full touchscreen, five megapixel camera, front-facing camera and expandable memory of 32GB with a microSD card.

Both the Sitemaster 2 (pictured left) and Sitemaster 3G pictured centre) can withstand pressure of one ton and have been tested at drops of two metres. They also have Bluetooth, an FM radio and a torch.

The Sitemaster 3G has a five megapixel camera, whereas the Sitemaster 2 houses a two megapixel alternative.

Data Select announced in August 2010 that it had won the tender for exclusive distribution of all JCB-branded handsets and accessories.

Data Select marketing director Jason Kemp said: “These three handsets mark the future of technology and are a welcome extension of an already impressive range of phones.”
